A milestone birthday deserves something special. Whether it’s a 40th, 50th, 60th, 70th or 80th, some of the most memorable and enjoyable celebrations are the ones where the host gets to be a guest at their own party.

We cook the food, and you enjoy the day. Here is how that works for each milestone, with real examples from parties we’ve catered.

40th birthdays

A 40th is often the first big party people throw for themselves, and it tends to be a mix of friends and family. We catered a 40th birthday buffet for 40 guests in a private barn, with a vegetarian menu of sambhar, South Indian mattar paneer, parathas, kachumber and jeera rice, served self-serve with everything supplied. For something smaller, we delivered a Party Box for a family 40th birthday lunch of six, with a mix of ready-to-reheat meat and vegan and vegetarian options, and full reheating instructions. We also deliver party boxes, hot, ready to eat. Read the full story

50th birthdays

A 50th is usually the big one: a larger guest list and a mix of generations. A self-serve hot buffet works well because guests help themselves, and nobody is stuck in the kitchen. Everything is supplied, and we clear up afterwards. We can also cater more intimate celebrations, and a private dining experience or even a dabba experience or grazing hampers will suit well.

60th birthdays

We’ve catered a mixed meat and vegetarian buffet with nibbles and curries and accompaniments in a hired venue for a 60th birthday. A self-serve hot buffet suits a 60th well: guests help themselves, the host stays at the party, and we build the menu around the people coming. Again, we can always cater a more intimate celebration for a 60th birthday too, in a different catering format.

70th birthdays

A 70th is often a family occasion where one person does all the organising. We’ve catered a 70th family celebration as a private dining experience for eight, with nibbles to start and a two-course meal, served at the table with service throughout, so the host could sit down and enjoy it with everyone else. A Party Box works well too, if you’d rather have food delivered and serve it yourself.

80th birthdays and beyond

Eightieth and ninetieth birthdays are usually family-hosted, with several generations round one table. Tell us about everyone’s tastes, spice preferences and dietary needs, and we’ll build the menu around the whole table. All our menus are designed around your guests.
